과천시가 지역 상권 활성화와 외식업소 경쟁력 강화를 위해 오는 4월 22일 ‘맛집 선발대회’를 개최한다.

과천시는 지난 3월 25일 보도자료를 통해 지역을 대표할 수 있는 우수 업소를 발굴하고 육성할 목적으로 올해 처음 맛집 선발대회를 개최할 계획이라고 밝히고, 이날부터 4월 5일까지 참가 신청을 받고 있다.

맛집 선발대회 참가자격은 브랜드 가맹점(프랜차이즈) 업소를 제외한 과천시 관내에 소재한 모든 외식업소에게 주어진다.

과천시는 맛집으로 선정된 업소에 대해 과천공연예술축제를 비롯한 지역 축제와 연계한 판매 및 홍보 활동과 밀키트 판매 등을 위한 온라인 마켓 입점 비용 등을 지원하는 한편, 과천시 공식 SNS 채널을 이용한 맛집 홍보에도 적극 나설 계획이다.

맛집 선발대회 참가 신청 업소에 대한 1차 심사는 서류 평가, 2차 심사는 방문 평가로 진행된다. 외식업 관련학과 교수 3인으로 구성된 전문위원이 1차 심사에서 10곳의 후보를 선정한 뒤, 2차로 업소를 직접 방문해 위생 평가 등의 심사를 통해 5곳의 맛집을 최종 선정할 계획이다.

맛집으로 선정된 5개 업소는 4월 22일에 과천시 창업지원센터 공유주방에서 열리는 맛집 경연대회에 참가해 현장에서 조리한 음식을 선보이고, 대회 현장에서 전문위원과 시민평가단의 평가를 통해 대상과 우수상 등의 시상이 이루어진다.

신계용 과천시장은 “올해 처음 열리는 맛집 선발대회에 많은 외식업소가 참가할 수 있기를 바란다”며, “이를 통해 과천시 상권 활성화와 소상공인들의 경쟁력 강화에 밑거름이 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

Gwacheon City will hold a ‘Restaurant Selection Contest’ on April 22 to revitalize the local commercial district and strengthen the competitiveness of restaurant businesses.

Gwacheon City announced in a press release on March 25 that it plans to hold its first restaurant selection contest this year with the purpose of discovering and nurturing excellent businesses that can represent the region, and is accepting applications for participation from this day until April 5.

Eligibility to participate in the restaurant selection contest is given to all restaurants located within Gwacheon City, excluding brand affiliated (franchise) establishments.

Gwacheon City supports sales and promotional activities in connection with local festivals, including the Gwacheon Performing Arts Festival, and online market entry costs for meal kit sales, etc. for businesses selected as restaurants, while also actively promoting restaurants using Gwacheon City's official SNS channels. I plan to go out.

The first screening of businesses applying to participate in the restaurant selection contest is a document evaluation, and the second screening is a visit evaluation. An expert committee consisting of three professors from restaurants-related departments plans to select 10 candidates in the first screening, and then visit the establishments in the second round to finalize five restaurants through hygiene evaluation and other screening.

The five restaurants selected as restaurants will participate in a restaurant contest held in the shared kitchen of the Gwacheon City Startup Support Center on April 22 and present food cooked on site, and will be awarded the grand prize and excellence award through evaluation by expert committee members and a citizen evaluation group at the contest site. The award ceremony takes place.

Gwacheon Mayor Shin Gye-yong said, “I hope that many restaurants will be able to participate in the restaurant selection contest that will be held for the first time this year.” He added, “I hope that this will serve as a foundation for revitalizing Gwacheon City’s commercial district and strengthening the competitiveness of small business owners.”
